Digital Media BlogWidescreen DVDs are supposed to contain more of the picture, not less...Posted: 1/28/2005 Apparently, quite a number of so-called widescreen DVDs produced by MGM in the last 6 years have actually just been the full screen versions with the top and bottom cut off to make it look widescreen. Why they would do that is anybody's guess, but now they've been the subject of a class-action lawsuit, and the proposed settlement includes a payout of $7.10 for each DVD purchased (US citizens only).
