The following P2P file-sharing clients are very popular:
- BearShare
BearShare utilizes a completely decentralized peer to peer network, and boasts an intuitive design, millions of users, safety features and quick setup. Free version contains adware.
- eDonkey2000
eDonkey is an application that allows you to share and download files with millions of other people across the globe. It is fast and easy to use with the most sophisticated file sharing technology available. (Contains adware)
- eMule
eMule, an open-source version of eDonkey2000, is one of the biggest and most reliable peer-to-peer file sharing clients around the world. Thanks to it's open source policy many developers are able to contribute to the project, making the network more efficient with each release.
- eXeem
The new kid on the block, eXeem is based on the BitTorrent system, but contains most of the features of the other p2p network clients. It features easy publication of files to the network as well as a rating and comments system.
- eXeem Lite
eXeem Lite is an ad-ware free version of eXeem.
- LimeWire
LimeWire is open source software, runs on an open protocol, and allows users to search for and share any kind of file.
- Shareaza
Another open-source client which supports the Gnutella, Gnutella2, eDonkey2000 and BitTorrent network protocols.
